Today, I worked in the stock room and filled orders. It's a fantastic time of the year, but I don't get much down time.
Last weekend, we sold and delivered Leo. He would never have left the farm, his wool is so nice, but he continued to break into the female pen and "have a good time" with the girls. Ugh. He will come back for a conjugal visit in the spring :)
This week, we are doing herd health and filling orders! The busy season is upon us and we are selling like hotcakes! Thank you all for supporting us.
This weekend was fun in some ways but also very repetitive. We are getting our socks labeled and ready for the big AMAZON rush. So we are labeling, bagging, and tagging socks. I start dreaming about socks... We picked up a bunch of stuffed animals for the store. It's a little bit like Christmas. We're looking forward to the busy season.
This is a small spot to tell you what we'r doing NOW on the farm. I had many folks after the open house say they were very interested in the day to day workings of the farm. Well, some days/weeks are just not that interesting, but some certainly are.
This week, I continue to try to button up the farm for winter and finish up my ordering for the store. I try to be ready by the end of October for the busy season of November-January. I continue to try to keep the ever escaping male alpaca, Leo, from getting in and impregnating females. It.Is.Ongoing.
